Political veteran in election challenge

Ichiro Ozawa, the grizzled veteran who leads the Democratic Party of Japan, the biggest opposition party, has set the stakes high for Sunday’s upper house election.

If his party cannot beat the ruling Liberal Democrats, he says, he will bow out from 40 years in politics.
