Prudential, the British life assurer, is best known for the so-called “man from the Pru,” who collected small premiums weekly from legions of working class families.
While the Pru’s direct sales force became a thing of the past in the UK eight years ago, the legacy of the man from the Pru lives on in the group’s Asian operations, including in China, where it has more than 20,000 insurance agents.
