Geithner and Darling see growth restart

Tim Geithner, US treasury secretary, and Alistair Darling, his British counterpart, on Monday agreed that growth was set to resume this year in major economies but that the future was shrouded in uncertainty.

The two ministers said progress in stabilising the financial services sector would be uneven and that it was essential that global regulatory convergence – agreed at the G20 summit in London in April – was followed through.
