Nicolas Sarkozy, France's president, and other European Union leaders will today urge Dmitry Med-vedev, Russia's president, to pull back his military forces in Georgia and ease the rising tensions in EU-Russian relations.
Mr Sarkozy, accompanied by José Manuel Barroso, the European Commission president, and Javier Solana, the EU foreign policy chief, will fly to Moscow to deliver the message that Russia must abide by the terms of a six-point peace accord brokered by the French leader.
