Khamenei calls for political unity

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday appealed for political unity following what he called the “family competition” over last month’s disputed presidential election.

The post-election protests over the re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad have left at least 20 people dead and hundreds detained as security forces cracked down on opposition rallies.
