European court set to decide on Microsoft

Microsoft will be told on Wednesday whether antitrust sanctions imposed by the European Commission in March will be suspended for several years, in a keenly-awaited decision by a senior European judge.

The decision could shield the US software giant from the strictures of the Brussels ruling, but it is also seen as crucial for its impact on any future antitrust investigations by the Commission against Microsoft.
