Lawyers want to quit despite pay rises

Almost a quarter of lawyers want to leave the profession even though big firms have raised pay sharply over the past year, a survey published on Monday claims.

Leading firms have raised junior lawyers’ salaries by 15 per cent or more to try to stop them quitting for jobs at banks and multinationals, where hours are often shorter and other conditions more attractive.
