UN to hold climate summit in September

United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon said on Friday he would convene a high level meeting on September 24 in New York to plan the next steps in climate change negotiations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Group of Eight wealthy nations summit in Heiligendamm, Germany, he said the meeting, would "lay the groundwork" for the UN climate change conference in Bali, Indonesia, in December.
