China pledges to narrow differences

China has pledged to narrow differences between its own accounting standards and international norms, a move that could bolster investor trust in corporate information from the fast-growing economy.

Wang Jun, assistant finance minister, said yesterday China would "actively promote and accelerate" an effort to bring the country's rules in line with international accounting standards.
