3i looks to Asian golden opportunity

If Michael Queen ever wants to put into perspective the challenges he faces as the new chief executive of 3i, the UK’s oldest private equity group, he only needs to remember the traumatic events he experienced a year ago.

Mr Queen was held hostage for 40 hours in the terrorist attack on the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, India in which more than 30 people died. He was among 143 guests freed when commandos stormed the building.
