Top executives ‘hinder improvements’

A lack of vision by senior executives is hampering the ability of fund management houses to adapt to change, according to their own employees.

Some 65 per cent of portfolio and relationship managers believe the limitations of top management is the single biggest factor stopping the fund industry from improving its risk management and corporate governance structures, according to a survey by KPMG. This figure leapt to 90 per cent in the US.
