Obama backs UK on crisis co-ordination

Barack Obama on Tuesday backed British efforts to forge a global response to the economic crisis and pledged loyalty to Washington’s “special relationship” with the UK after talks with Gordon Brown, the prime minister, at the White House.

The US president voiced support for a global regulatory shake-up and coordinated fiscal stimulus measures to jump start the world economy ahead of next month’s G20 summit, hosted by Mr Brown in London.
