Sportingbet employees detained in Turkey

Sportingbet, one of the main casualties of the recent US clampdown on internet gambling, could face fresh problems in another of its key markets after Turkish police detained two of its employees.

The group, which last year generated nearly 10 per cent of its turnover and 23 per cent of its operating profit from Turkey, saw its shares fall 2¾p to 36p on the news.
