Manufacturers seek aid to save jobs

Failure to support jobs in UK manufacturing during the recession may encourage international businesses to shed British workers rather than their employees overseas, manufacturers claim.

The warning comes as unions and leaders of small businesses on Monday demand that the government provide short-term wage subsidies to save jobs.
