Barclays Capital has lured former Citi banker Tom King with its bottomless hiring budget, confirming speculation that he would join the investment bank.

The former head of corporate finance for Citi in Europe has replaced Joe Gatto as co-head of corporate finance at BarCap, working alongside Ros Stephenson . Mr Gatto returns to the US as chairman of BarCap corporate banking there.
