Mayor points to ‘wrong quantity of snow’

Boris Johnson blamed the “wrong quantity of snow” as the Conservative mayor, along with the government, was on Monday forced on to the defensive over the widespread failure of public transport in the capital.

The London mayor initially sought to justify the virtually unprecedented absence of bus services in London on Monday morning by highlighting the “kind of snow” falling on the capital. He then corrected himself, saying the problem was actually the “completely out of scale” quantity.
