Carphone sacrifices margins in push for market share

Carphone Warehouse, the mobile phone retailer and telecommunications company, said on Thursday it had sacrificed profit margins in the Christmas quarter to gain market share in its retail business.

While its retail revenues rose 6.5 per cent on a like-for-like basis, retail gross profit fell 3.8 per cent.
