Xstrata plays waiting game in Anglo bid

Xstrata’s proposed merger of equals with Anglo American implies a “value gap” and is little more than a distraction for management, says Sir John Parker, Anglo’s incoming chairman.

His comments on Monday came even as Xstrata made clear it would wait patiently for Anglo shareholders to come round to its proposal.
