Forth Ports confirms Babcock stake

Forth Ports, the UK’s last independent listed port operator, responded on Monday to the purchase of a more than 20 per cent stake by one of the world’s most active port investors.

The purchase of the stake – by Sydney-based Babcock & Brown – has led to speculation Forth Ports could become the latest UK port operator to be taken over by a financial investor.
