There are no cloisters or quadrangles at Kent University's Medway campus, but the history of the Chatham site is plainly evident. The old naval drill hall is now the longest university library in Europe.

Shared with the University of Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church, the campus has more than 5,500 full-time equivalent students and the number is rising fast. Students from the local area account for a higher percentage than at many other universities.
