After a decade of working with Guy Hands at Terra Firma, as financial managing director of the private equity group and an EMI board member, if Riaz Punja tires of trying to flog CDs he has plenty of other interests besides listening to long-playing records.

It is unclear if Mr Punja will join those leaving Terra Firma, Chris Roling and Ashley Unwin .
