Labour faces a "dangerous moment" as it convenes for its annual conference this weekend and cannot afford a further round of "self-indulgence" over its future leadership, Jack Straw has warned.
As Labour gathers in Manchester for Tony Blair's last conference as prime minister, Mr Straw, the Commons leader and former foreign secretary, lamented recent infighting over the succession, calling it an "unseemly display" which had created a "serious situation".
