IRA role in bank raid possible, admits Adams

Gerry Adams, the Sinn Fein president, has for the first time raised the possibility that the IRA may have been behind December's raid on a Belfast bank, in which raiders escaped with £26.5m.

Speaking on Spanish radio yesterday, Mr Adams said: "The IRA has said it was not them. I believe them but maybe I am wrong."
