Woody Allen’s films are famous for their recurring themes, male neurosis being the most established one. But following next week’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival of Cassandra’s Dream, London – and, more importantly, London style – can be added to the mix. Alongside last year’s Allen-directed Scoop and Match Point in 2005, Cassandra’s Dream is set mainly in the UK capital, with the characters’ wardrobes sourced from some of its best-known clothing emporia.

In Match Point, Allen’s portrayal of affluent urban and aristocratic rural life, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Matthew Goode wore suits from Gieves & Hawkes and shoes from Church’s, while in the murder mystery Scoop , Allen’s character, a magician called the Great Splendini, sported numerous items from Marks & Spencer. Cassandra’s Dream sees Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell play two scheming cockney brothers dressed in true Sloane and New Bond Streets style, courtesy of Prada and Dior.
