Doubts over Nokia's new device

Nokia, the world's leading mobile phone maker, yesterday unveiled a pocket-sized communications device designed to enable consumers to connect to the internet using either a home Wi-Fi wireless network or a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.

The launch of the Nokia 770, which Nokia describes as "a Linux-based internet tablet" represents a significant departure for the Finnish company, which has focused on the mobile phone market since leaving the PC and TV markets years ago.
