Talent management, the process of recruiting, nurturing and developing the skills and knowledge of staff, is not about technology. It is a process that begins with attracting employees and functions via training and education slipped in between ordinary working commitments.
But technology has a role in easing access to the employee’s sentiments via online feedback and can deliver bite-sized training sessions whenever staff get the chance to log on. It is an essential faciltator for the talent management process, but it can only be applied successfully when that process itself is properly organised.
