Emerging market deficit currencies renew slide

Emerging market currencies dependent on foreign capital flows to balance their books suffered further sharp falls this week.

The South African rand, Turkish lira and Hungarian forint, as well as the New Zealand dollar and Icelandic krona, took a fearful beating in a sign that the market is sharpening its focus.
