Angola to join corruption fight after IMF deal

Angola plans to join aUK-led effort to fight corruption in resource-rich countries after securing a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund, according to the country's finance minister.

"We may end up . . . agreeing on a programme by the middle of next year," Jose Pedro de Morais said in his offices, recently refurbished by Chinese contractors. "If there is some flexibility from the IMF side, we definitely will have a staff-monitored programme before that."
