Brown: ‘I do not roll over’

Gordon Brown came out fighting on Sunday morning as the British prime minister insisted he was healthy and rejected the claims of one of his most senior ministers that Labour was suffering from fatalism about its prospects in next year’s general election.

Alistair Darling, chancellor of the exchequer, had told a newspaper that many Labour figures had “lost the will to live” because the party was doing so badly in the opinion polls.
