Bebo joins Facebook in opening community

Bebo yesterday said it would give media companies free and open access to its community of 40m users, exploiting a trend among social networking web sites.

The US-based social networking site's Open Media initiative will allow companies such as the BBC and CBS to make their video content available on its site, using their own media players and selling their own advertising around the content if they wish.
