Olympics security gets 10,000 officers

As many as 10,000 police officers will be deployed at Olympic events on the busiest days of the 2012 games under a £600m security strategy.

Ministers have just approved a multi-agency blueprint for the UK’s largest postwar peacetime security event following criticism that the plan had been delayed by more than a year.
