Now allcomers can get down to the brass tacks

Investors can now gain direct exposure to private equity deals with stakes of as low as £12,000, as investment providers move to lower the entry point on this increasingly popular asset class.

Private equity has until recently been the exclusive territory of the super-rich. Direct investment in buy-outs and early stage growth companies has been beyond the reach of anyone without at least a few hundred thousand pounds to spare.
