UK Lord Patten has joined Tony Blair in signalling his availability for a top European Union job next year, announcing on Tuesday that he would be “very positive” about the idea of becoming Europe’s first foreign minister.
The Oxford University chancellor believes he could combine his current role with a new job forging and promoting a common European foreign policy.
