Templeton warns Indian groups over governance

Franklin Templeton has issued a warning to Indian companies over corporate governance following an aborted attempt by a top outsourcing firm to buy businesses controlled by the chairman's family without seeking shareholder approval.

The failed deal by Satyam Computer Services has turned the microscope on corporate governance in India's family-dominated business community, which is feeling the pain for the first time after years of easy capital.
