Lithuania leads way as investors return to Baltics

Their economies remain in the grip of a savage recession but the Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are enjoying a powerful rebound in equity values as investors pour back into the markets.

The OMX Baltic benchmark, the main measure of the three markets, has gained nearly 80 per cent in the past six months and nearly a third in the past month, putting them among the best performing markets in the world this year.
