Clash erupts on use of data to fight crime

Britain is at loggerheads with the rest of the European Union over plans to restrict the use of airline passenger lists for the prevention of serious crimes.

The Home Office, through its “e-Borders” programme, has collected data on 50m passenger movements, which have led to more than 2,000 arrests.
