UK warns exiled oligarch not to plot against Putin

Boris Berezovsky, the multi-millionaire Russian “oligarch”, was on Monday warned by the UK government not to campaign for the overthrow of Vladimir Putin while he is living in Britain.

The warning from Jack Straw, foreign secretary, comes after Mr Berezovsky, a vocal and acerbic opponent of the Russian president, told a Moscow radio station last month that he had been planning a coup against Mr Putin for the previous 18 months.
