Greene King warns of slowdown

Greene King, the brewer and pub operator, warned that revenues from its core managed pubs business had slipped nearly 3 per cent in the past two months, in an indication of the pressures starting to face consumers as the economy shows signs of increasing fragility.

The company - which also said it was reviewing whether to convert to a real estate investment trust to reduce its tax exposure - said overall economic conditions remained “difficult”.
