British workers get ‘first crack’ at vacancies

Employers hiring skilled workers will be forced by law to advertise the posts at jobcentres under a new initiative trumpeted as giving Britons an edge in the jobs market.

The populist move – which could affect 60,000-80,000 people – is limited to posts in fields such as construction, nursing, hotel management and teaching.
