Treasuries up as oil spurs safe-haven buying

US Treasury bond prices took their cues from equity price movements on Monday as a spike in oil prices prompted investors to find some safe haven in debt. But a late stock market rally pushed Treasuries lower in late trading.

Activity was relatively light as investors caught their breath following last Friday’s market-moving data.
