Community involvement: Responsible neighbours invest in local causes

As the concept of corporate responsibility gains momentum, companies are rushing to embark on community projects. Yet it is difficult to define exactly what constitutes a business’s community.

For some, it is the local schools or civil society organisations around their offices, while multi-nationals answer to “local communities” all over the world, whether near textile factories in Asia or on farmland in South America.
