Labour on Monday claimed the endorsement of a roll-call of industry leaders in an attempt to bolster its economic credentials, amid growing concern that it may raise business taxes after the election.
As Tony Blair and Gordon Brown embarked on a week of campaigning on the economy, 63 Labour supporters and donors from the banking, leisure, media, engineering, and manufacturing sectors signed a letter in Monday’s FT applauding the party for presiding over “unprecedented” economic stability and growth and fostering a more entrepreneurial society.
