The US has imposed a travel ban on 10 Kenyan politicians and businessmen for their alleged role in instigating the post-election bloodshed that has provoked an exodus of Kenyans from ethnically mixed regions.

Michael Ranneberger, the US ambassador to Kenya, told the FT there was strong evidence of involvement in financing and inciting violence against all 10. They come from the camps of both rivals for the presidency, Mwai Kibaki, the incumbent, and Raila Odinga.
