BBC launches first trials of on-demand television programming

The BBC has launched its first trials of on-demand television programming in a move that Mark Thompson, director-general, says could revolutionise viewing habits.

The corporation is conducting tests on a service allowing licence holders to download or store the BBC schedule on a weekly basis so they can choose what to watch, where and when.
