Kennedy adds voice to chorus of disapproval

A stinging ministerial attack on Monday on Gordon Brown’s “bullying” rule by “smears” and “intimidation” brought the prime minister’s style of government to the fore of Labour’s civil war.

Mr Brown’s character has been the subject of hostile briefings from colleagues since an anonymous Blairite critique of his “psychological flaws” made headlines in January 1998.
