Sony admitted on Monday the planned spring launch of the long-awaited PlayStation 3 could be delayed if industry specifications for some of its technology are not finalised soon.

Final specifications for the Blu-ray Disc, the advanced DVD standard being championed by Sony, have not yet been decided, according to Sony Computer Entertainment. The PS3 video games console is set to be a major vehicle for the DVD standard.
