The very rich get little sympathy. That is as it should be. The impoverished are more appropriate subjects for pity, while the rich – many would argue – should look for effective ways to help them.

However, being wealthy still brings its problems. And those appear to have magnified over the past few years, as the ranks of the rich have swollen.
