Australia revises up GDP forecast

Australia on Monday forecast that its economy will grow by 1.5 per cent in the year ending June 2010, revising a previous estimate that it would contract 0.5 per cent in the same period.

Underlining the economic rebound since the budget was handed down in May, the government also lowered its projection for peak unemployment to 6.75 per cent from 8.5 per cent.
