Hodge urged to reveal new costs of company law

Investors and business are challenging the government to reveal the expected costs of its contentious changes to company law, accusing ministers of agreeing to force directors to disclose information on suppliers and other contracts without assessing the regulatory impact.

The Quoted Companies Alliance, which represents smaller companies, yesterday wrote to Conservative and Labour peers urging them to reverse the government's "unnecessary and costly" amendment to the huge companies bill when it reaches the Lords next week.
