Celebrities braced for blows over wind farms

Never mind the furoreover fox-hunting. Celebrities are squaring up to battle over another Labour policy that opponents claim threatens the future of the countryside - the development of wind farms.

Broadcaster Noel Edmonds, the self-styled lord of the manor of Crinkley Bottom in the television programme Noel's House Party, was rolled out this summer to lead the campaign against the erection of giant turbines dubbed "weapons of mass distraction".
